Washroom refurbishment at Mid-Cheshire College

Flush Washrooms secure washroom refurbishment at Mid-Cheshire College located in Hartford, Cheshire. The company was successful in securing a 200k contract to refurbish the washrooms throughout the main campus. The project was to forfill the clients brief to provide cost effective washroom facilities that are both functional and energy efficient.

The toilet cubicle range is manufactured from anti-vandal solid grade laminate with strong elliptical aluminum pilasters. Each toilet cubicle is to be fitted with discreet stainless steel anti-taper fixings and was complimented with solid graded laminate IPS duct framesets these fitted to conceal all new and existing services but still allowing access for routine maintenance. The framesets don’t just conceal the services but complete the washroom.

Twyford bathrooms supplied the WC suites from there sola rimless range of pans. This pan has been designed with no rim or hidden channels therefore nowhere to gather germs. It also has a full shrouding to prevent dirt, getting trapped. They are easy to clean and come complete with seat and cover complete with stainless steel top fix hinges. The WC will be supplied with a Thomas Dudley (Twyfords approved) low 6-litre energy efficient infrared concealed cistern complete with (dual single flush operation) which complies with current BREEM specifications therefore making this pan ideal for any commercial or educational washroom refurbishment.

All the washroom vanity units are to be supplied with a high-pressure laminate vanity top. This material offers outstanding durability with resistance against impact and general surface wear. Its surface is impervious to water and will maintain its integrity. The vanity duct panels are manufactured from solid grade laminate this product. This product is a self-supporting decorative panel with a black core and will be mounted onto pre-built assemble frame. These panels will be fully removable allowing full access for routine maintenance and access by using kehu ‘lift off’ or “pull off” clips.

Each vanity unit was supplied with Twyford bathrooms galleria countertop vanity basins each manufactured from vitreous china. The taps supplied are Infrared basin mounted mounted taps these ideal where hygiene is paramount, such as public toilets and washrooms. The users presence is detected by an infrared sensor, which controls a solenoid valve to turn on a timed flow of water.

The flooring was supplied by Polyflor from there Polysafe Arena range of slip resistance flooring this product meets all the usual slip resistance requirements required in washrooms and restrooms, achieving 36+ on the Pendulum wet test with full conformance to HSE Guidelines and EN 13845. Arena also passes the 50,000 cycles abrasion test demonstrating the sustainability of slip performance.

This product has been manufactured with a polyurethane reinforcement PUR coating for maintenance benefits. This will include for the supply and installation of capped and coved flexible skirting detail.(This will allow the vinyl flooring up the wall as a skirting detail) by using a cove former trim

Suspended ceiling will comprise of 600 x 600 x 6.5mm thick (plain white) Danotile ceiling tiles made from a gypsum-based core with plain ultra white vinyl surface and PE foil backing. These tiles will be supported within a white visible lay-in grid system. The Danotile has a smooth, white laminated surface, which is environmentally friendly and ensures great usability in rooms with relatively high humidity.

The tiles have an easy to maintain surface with good mechanical resistance that will withstand rough washing, making them ideal for use in hygienic facilities with high cleaning requirements with any washroom refurbishment.

Lighting was designed to be low maintenance with a minimum general light level of 300 lux. The lighting supplied as high frequency 20 Watt LED surface mounted circular sensor bulkhead light fittings each fitted with a passive infra red sensor (PIR motion sensor)
