Transforming washroom facilities for Pump & Package Northampton
Pump & Package Northampton, is a leading supplier of industrial pumps, process equipment and system solutions across diverse sectors, recognised the need to upgrade their washroom facilities to meet modern standards of inclusivity, privacy and hygiene. Their objective was to create a unisex washroom environment that not only accommodated both genders but also prioritised user comfort and safety.
The challenge:
The existing washroom facilities at Pump & Package Northampton lacked inclusivity and privacy, particularly for female employees. The client sought a comprehensive washroom refurbishment solution that would seamlessly integrate a female toilet cubicle while maintaining the efficiency and functionality required for an industrial setting. Additionally, enhancing hygiene standards and ensuring user safety were key priorities.

Unisex facility integration: A fundamental aspect of the washrooms refurbishment project was the creation of a unisex washroom environment. This involved redesigning the layout to incorporate a female toilet cubicle while ensuring accessibility and convenience for all users.
Enhanced privacy features: To enhance user privacy, the design incorporated increased height and lower leg cubicles. This thoughtful approach provided users with a greater sense of privacy and comfort while using the facilities.
Hygienic materials: The use of UPVC wall cladding ensured a hygienic environment that is easy to clean and maintain, contributing to improved overall cleanliness standards. Additionally, anti-slip safety flooring was installed to enhance safety and prevent accidents in the work
Premium fixtures: Premium fixtures such as Corian solid surface wash troughs were chosen for their durability, aesthetics and ease of maintenance. These fixtures not only complemented the modern design but also contributed to the longevity of the washroom facilities.
Energy-efficient lighting: Energy-efficient lighting with PIR detection was installed to optimise energy consumption and reduce environmental impact. This intelligent lighting solution provided adequate illumination while minimising unnecessary energy usage during periods of low occupancy.
